ANNOUNCEMENT: We have sold out of bunnies and closed our rabbitry.

It's been a lot of fun! A special thank you to all the bunnies and breeders that made this hobby so wonderful.

Welcome to After The Rain Rabbitry

As of February 2010, our rabbitry is closed and we are no longer breeding or selling rabbits. We hope to get back into the hobby someday, though it will likely be a long time before that happens.

We had so much fun raising adorable fluffy bunnies for pets, brood and show. The breeds that we raised included Lionheads, Holland Lops, Netherland Dwarfs, Lionlops, and for a little while we had Thriantas and Mini Rex. We enjoyed working with pedigreed rabbits from quality bloodlines.

Located in Crozet, Virginia, our unique rabbitry offered beautiful, snuggable bunnies that had been raised with love and care. We devoted just as much attention to breeding for temperament as we did for type! Our rabbits were handled from their day of birth and were all very accustomed to human interaction. We believe this is an important part of raising any domesticated animal.

At ATR, we specialized in many of the harder-to-find varieties, such as Orange, Blue-Eyed White and Chocolate. We had people from Maryland, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina and all over Virginia travel to adopt our bunnies.

Our favorite parts of raising rabbits were: Seeing the smile on their faces when new owners met their long-awaited bunnies for the first time. Whenever a new litter was born, taking the kits out of the nest box to check how many there were and guess at colors. Playing with 4-week-old baby bunnies in the play pen outside on the grass. Watching baby bunnies do non-stop binkies when they got excited or felt playful. Getting pictures and updates from people who adopted our bunnies. Meeting wonderful breeder friends.

   We will miss every bunny!
